Our home!

Down our driveway, you can barely see Daddy's car.

Our beautiful trees..

Daddy found this print. It is not a deer, bear or raccoon...it could be the VA Chupacabra! Mom better watch her goats!

2010 The Opening of Another Chapter!

Hello and Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family!

Wow, this past year has been one for the books for the Pellican family! At the top of our list was our August 1st move from Southern California to Fincastle, VA! Even though we love Southern California and its lifestyle, we believed it would have been better to move back to an area where life is slower and safer to raise Timothy and Michael. There were so many considerations and in the end we decided on making the move.

There is so much we do miss from California such as the beach, year-round baseball, Trader Joes, El Pollo Loco, Mexican food and the weather (it is currently 19 degrees outside here right now). But during our 6-year tenure we met some very special people that became very dear friends to us. We feel it would have been perfect to have been able to transplant our jobs and the companies we worked for from SoCal to VA. Not only the companies but the special people we had the opportunity to know and to work with.

Timmy also started his first year of middle school at Central Academy. His first day at school was rough since he did not know a single person. That evening we were concerned for him but by the end of his first week he had a good number of friends and within a couple weeks had a new girlfriend, Laura (her mother is Michael’s preschool teacher). His social life is doing well and of course, he can’t wait for spring to come around for baseball season. If things go well, he will miss a day of school next September when the LA Dodgers come to DC to beat the Nationals and we hope to be there. He continues to dance and work on his art projects. Tim has become very style conscience and loves his skinny jeans.

Michael started pre-school this year at Fincastle Preschool. He loves it and his first report card was all good! His pediatrician has given him a good bill of health as to concerning his blood sugar. The prognosis is that even though he has had some erratic numbers at times, he does not have diabetes. We will monitor him every few months and hope and pray that he continues to do well. He is becoming very athletic like his brother. He loves to dance with Tim and they practice their moves together. Michael even has skinny jeans just like his older brother.

As for Mommy and Daddy, Mommy is working at the local Dollar General and enjoys the flexibility and its proximity to our home (less than a minute away). Daddy is building his photography business while he works for a company in Salem, waiting for the right job to come along in the field of commercial real estate/property management.

We look forward to this coming New Year with much anticipation! We have lots of plans and hopes for this year and hope to share them with you all. We look forward to visits from many of our friends and family to our little portion of the wood.

We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year!
