Fire Update and Michael's 6 month check-up

The winds aren't as bad today as they have been the past couple of days, so that's a good thing. We went ahead and let Timmy go to school today, but a tree had been uprooted in front of the office, and from what I could tell, you couldn't get in the office through the front door, you had to go through the teacher's entrance. The Magic Fire and Stephenson Ranch Fire, which were the closest to Simi Valley where mom and HC are, seem to be burning themselves out with the help of lots of water drops.

Bit Bit (Michael) went to the doctor for his six-month check-up this morning. The little squirt weighs 16 lbs and 12 oz and is 27 inches long. He's doing great! He had to get bee stings (shots) but he did as well as expected!!

California is Burning....

Wow....there are fires everywhere right now. We're not in any danger, but we do have ALOT of smoke from them. There was a fire on Santa Rosa Road yesterday and it turned the sky the oddest color. Here are some pictures taken from our balcony. When John left for work this morning, he said that he could see the glow from the fires in Malibu. HC called us tonight and the manager from his apartment complex had just called and they are coming up with an evacuation plan. That's scary.

Timmy and Michael are doing great. We decided to keep Timmy home from school today because he would need to be outside so much and we don't want to jinx him with his asthma. He has done so well with it and we don't want to start anything. John has done a wonderful job of taking care of us and making sure we're taking care of ourselves. We got an air purifier and have kept all the windows and doors shut, but unfortunately you can still get a whiff of smoke when you go back toward the bedrooms.

Here are some pictures. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to put up since I typed this before posting the pictures. Hope everyone is doing well!!

USC Game on Saturday

We hope everyone is having a great weekend! Timmy and daddy went with Mr. Jerry and his son Devon to see the USC vs Arizona game on Saturday. Since they arrived there four hours prior to kick-off, they had a chance to go visit the Califorinia ScienCenter which is next door to the LA Coliseum. Timmy tried his hand at rock climbing.

We have added the poster that Timmy used when he ran for Sargent at Arms. Unfortunately, he came in second which was a great effort and victory on his behalf. He is the class representative for his class in student council. Daddy says that Ronald Reagan didn't win his first time out. We are proud of him as he has conveyed that he will fun for office next year.

Michael is doing fine. He absolutely loves going with mommy to her PTC functions at the school. He is always assured to get plenty attention from both the faculty and the students. We have two little girls in the neighborhood who come knocking just to see Michael, can you believe it!?! and he is not even 6 months. Hope everyone has a great week. Next week we have Timmy's birthday party and it should be something. Bye from Sunny SoCal!

Oh My Boys!!

Michael was sick last week. He was running a fever Tuesday morning and I had a doctor's appt., so Maria kept him in the morning for me. I thought it was "just teething". When I got back about an hour later, he was warmer and he was breathing funny, so we took him to the doctor. Yup, he's sick, double ear infections! He is still on an antibiotic and is doing better, but he started running a fever again last night. A mild fever, but still a fever. So I gave him some Tylenol and he's been fine since. I just checked his mouth and I found out why he was running a little fever.....the little booger has a tooth! The bottom left one has already broken the skin and the other one you can barely feel it. And he's not evern five and a half months old!
Timmy is running for Sargent at Arms for his SCA. He came up with a WONDERFUL speech that I thought John had helped him write, but didn't. He has to make a poster and do a speech this week and elections are Friday. Wish him luck!!!
