John's Heart Attack

Memorial Day night we had gone over to Gee Gee and Paw Paw's for dinner and had a wonderful time. We all got home and gotten in bed when John woke me up saying he wasn't feeling well and it wasn't passing like it usually did. He wanted to go to the hospital. I called Gee Gee to come stay with the kids and took Daddy to the ER After checking his blood pressure (176/114) and heart rate (110) they took him on back and did a ton of lab work. His lab work showed that he had had a heart attack, though it didn't present itself in the "textbook fashion". He just had a lot of burning in his chest. He spent the night in Pleasant Valley Monday and Tuesday night and was transported to St. John's in Oxnard on Wednesday morning. The doctors did an angiogram on Wednesday morning and placed a stent in his back artery, which was 99% blocked. Dr. Zager told me that he was extremely lucky they caught it when they did because he could have just dropped dead. So for all of you out there, age doesn't make a difference. John is only 43. Take care of yourselves so you don't have to put your family through what we've been through this week.

Memorial Day Weekend in Las Vegas

For Memorial Day, we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Pellican. We left around Noon on Friday and got there around 7. Traffic was horrible until we got through the El Cojon Pass and then it was smooth sailing. Saturday we went to Mandalay Bay to the Shark Reef and of course to the promised trip to the Luxor and Criss Angel's store. Sunday we went to Mar Largo at Lake Las Vegas for brunch and what a brunch it was! It was great! It's actually been on the Food Network about the deserts, in which we all took part in and sampled one of each for everyone!!! Timmy, Michael and Dad went down to the Lake and watched a wedding. Then Grandma, Grandpa and all of us went for a walk through the shops. Grandpa played football with Timmy and ran around with Michael. It was a lot of fun!!! We left early on Monday morning and got home around 9 am. After a quick rest and showers, we all went to Santa Barbara. It was a great day! Little did we know what the rest of the day would be like.....

Timmy's Field Trip to America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College

Today I went with Timmy and his class on a fieldtrip to America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. It was great and they had a wonderful presentation for the kids before the walking tour. They had all kinds of animals from around the world, from Madagascar hissing cockroaches to a dog and emu, a cow from Scotland, beavers, parots and so much more. On the walking tour we saw a lioness, bobcat, monkeys, bald eagles and other animals that I just can't think of right now. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Mother's Day.....and Updates

Here are some pictures that John took of the kids before we left for VA. They're great of the boys!

Much as gone on since the last time I posted:

Timmy is doing great in school. Unfortunately, I completely forgot about his GATE test until the day after and he won't be able to take it again until the Fall. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be this year. He's doing great in school also. He got his report card and we're very proud of him for his accomplishments. We went to the orthodontist about his teeth and he referred him to UCLA for treatment. We go the
19th. The specialize in "dental trauma", so hopefully we'll get some answers and some treatment. He has lost two more teeth, so the only teeth he has in the front of his mouth are the two bottom teeth. Bless his baby heart.

Michael is growing up too fast. He's walking great now and has quite the little personality. When he doesn't get his way, he acts like he's hyperventilating. You think he's getting ready to die, but he's just having a "Michael fit". I took him to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for his one-year-check-up and he weighed 22 lbs. 4 oz. and was 29 inches long. He did great with his shots too, although he got the normal mild fever for a couple of days. He loves being entertained by Timmy and flirting with girls (just like his brother)!

John is doing great at work. He's doing BPO's for Wells Fargo also and loves it. Nothing much is going on with him other than being a great husband and a wonderful father. Actually he and Tim are at the park right now throwing the baseball back and forth.

I got suckered in to being president of the Las Posas PTC for one more year. And I started selling Pampered Chef. I am having a blast. I'm doing about 1 kitchen show a week and enjoying getting out of the house some. I've met a lot of nice people! If anyone needs anything or would like to look at the new catolog, you can go to my website at www.pamperedchef.biz/jenniferpellican. You can copy and paste if you would like, but you have to have the www. in the address or it will take you to a search engine. You can order whatever you would need/like and it can be shipped directly to you.

Mom and HC moved to Camarillo about a month ago I guess. Mom got sick and had to have surgery about a week and a half ago to do biopsies on her lungs. Everything came back ok, but she has to take antibiotics for six months. She has an extremely mild case of Valley Fever and has a yeast infection in her lungs. Don't get me started on how she could have gotten a yeast infection in her lungs!

We miss everyone and hope everyone is well. Don't be strangers!!
